What are you caring for?
What do you need to do?
Routine keyboard cleaning
Use the least aggressive method suitable for the product and keep moisture away from openings.
- 01
Disconnect the keyboard or switch it off where the model provides an appropriate control.
- 02
Remove loose debris carefully with a suitable soft brush or other gentle electronics-safe method.
- 03
Use a clean, soft and dry microfibre cloth on appropriate external surfaces.
- 04
Avoid forcing debris or introducing liquid into switches, sockets, ports or seams.
- 05
Keep the keyboard disconnected until it is completely dry.
Reconnect only when the keyboard and relevant components are completely dry.
Liquid spill stop route
Stop using the keyboard while internal moisture may remain.
- 01
Disconnect the keyboard from power as soon as it is safe to do so.
- 02
Do not continue operating the keyboard.
- 03
Do not reconnect it merely because the exterior appears dry.
- 04
Contact BROVOXEL with the model and spill details before further experimentation.
This guide cannot determine internal dryness or damage. Professional assessment may be appropriate.
Keycap care route
Keycap removal is not necessary for every routine clean.
- 01
Confirm removal is appropriate for the particular keyboard.
- 02
Use a suitable keycap puller and controlled upward pressure.
- 03
Take additional care with larger stabilised keys.
- 04
Use only a cleaning method suitable for the specific keycap material and legends.
- 05
Reinstall keycaps only when they are completely dry.
If the keycap material or approved cleaning method is uncertain, contact BROVOXEL before using a chemical cleaner.
Hot-swap switch route
Only proceed where the model is specifically described as hot-swappable.
- 01
Disconnect the keyboard.
- 02
Confirm the supported socket, switch type and pin configuration.
- 03
Use an appropriate switch-pulling tool and avoid excessive force.
- 04
Inspect replacement-switch pins before installation.
- 05
Never force a bent or misaligned pin into a socket.
Hot-swappable does not mean every mechanical switch is compatible.
Wireless keyboard care route
Follow the charging and power guidance supplied for the model.
- 01
Use charging equipment that meets the stated product requirements.
- 02
Do not use damaged charging cables or connectors.
- 03
Keep the product away from excessive heat and fire.
- 04
If the battery is swollen, damaged, unusually hot or otherwise concerning, stop using the product and contact BROVOXEL.
Do not continue using a battery-powered product that shows signs of battery failure.
Keyboard storage route
Use a clean, dry location and protect the keyboard from physical pressure.
- 01
Disconnect and clean the keyboard appropriately.
- 02
Confirm it is completely dry.
- 03
Store away from excessive moisture, heat and direct sunlight.
- 04
Do not place heavy objects on top of it.
- 05
Follow any model-specific long-term battery guidance.
Storage guidance can differ for battery-powered models.
Routine desk mat care
Begin with a gentle method suitable for the surface material.
- 01
Remove loose debris gently.
- 02
Use a soft cloth where appropriate for the material.
- 03
Check product information before using water, detergent or another cleaner.
- 04
Keep sharp objects, strong chemicals and excessive heat away from the surface.
Desk mat construction varies. Product-specific care instructions take priority.
Desk mat wet-cleaning route
Only use wet cleaning when it is appropriate for the specific product.
- 01
Check the stated materials and care instructions.
- 02
Avoid bleach, aggressive chemicals and abrasive scrubbing unless expressly permitted.
- 03
Avoid very hot water, high-heat drying and ironing unless specifically permitted.
- 04
Use a method that will not damage printed or coated surfaces.
Do not assume every desk mat can be submerged or machine washed.
Desk mat drying route
Electronics should not return to a wet or significantly damp surface.
- 01
Place the mat in a suitable position for drying.
- 02
Allow it to dry fully.
- 03
Do not apply unnecessary high heat unless the product instructions expressly permit it.
- 04
Return the keyboard and other electronics only after the mat is completely dry.
A surface that feels dry in one area may still retain moisture elsewhere.
Surface-protection route
Prevent avoidable marks, cuts, heat exposure and chemical damage.
- 01
Do not cut directly on the mat.
- 02
Keep sharp objects from pressing into the surface.
- 03
Be cautious with hot objects, strong chemicals and adhesives.
- 04
Address loose debris before it becomes embedded through normal desk use.
Printed and coated surfaces may require product-specific care.
Desk mat storage route
Avoid storage methods likely to create permanent folds or pressure marks.
- 01
Confirm the mat is clean and completely dry.
- 02
Avoid sharp folds and crushing.
- 03
Do not leave heavy objects applying prolonged pressure.
- 04
If rolling is suitable for that product, use a gentle roll rather than a tight fold.
Not every mat should be rolled in the same way; check the product instructions.
01 / MECHANICAL KEYBOARD CARE
A light routine beats
heavy build-up.
Dust, crumbs and other debris can collect between keycaps during normal use. Regular gentle external care is generally preferable to waiting for significant accumulation.
- 01○
Disconnect
Disconnect a wired keyboard. Switch off a wireless model where it provides an appropriate power control.
- 02≋
Remove loose debris
Use an appropriate soft brush or another gentle electronics-safe method.
- 03◇
Wipe gently
Use a clean, soft and dry microfibre cloth on appropriate external surfaces.
- 04⌁
Avoid openings
Do not force debris or introduce liquid into switches, sockets, ports or seams.
- 05✓
Dry completely
Keep the keyboard disconnected until it and any cleaned components are completely dry.
CLEANING WORKBENCH
Gentle tools. Controlled pressure.
Keycap removal is not required for every routine clean.
Avoid sharp metal objects and excessive force between keys.
Use a soft, dry cloth on appropriate external surfaces.
Do not force a connector or place unnecessary strain near the port.
LIQUID SPILL / STOP ROUTE
Exterior dryness does not prove the inside is dry.
BROVOXEL does not describe a keyboard as waterproof or water-resistant unless that characteristic is specifically stated and supported for the particular model.
- 01
Disconnect the keyboard from power as soon as it is safe to do so.
- 02
Do not continue operating it while liquid may remain inside.
- 03
Do not reconnect it merely because the exterior appears dry.
- 04
Depending on the circumstances, contact BROVOXEL and consider professional assessment.
02 / KEYCAP CARE
Remove only when appropriate.
- Confirm removal is appropriate for the model.
- Use a suitable keycap puller and controlled upward pressure.
- Take additional care around stabilised larger keys.
- Avoid harsh solvents and excessive heat.
- Never reinstall washed keycaps until completely dry.
03 / HOT-SWAP CARE
Supported does not mean universal.
- Disconnect the keyboard.
- Confirm the model is hot-swappable.
- Check socket, switch and pin compatibility.
- Use an appropriate switch-pulling tool.
- Never force a bent or misaligned pin into a socket.
04 / PORTS, POWER & STORAGE
Care continues beyond the keycaps.
Use the requirements and storage guidance supplied for the specific model.
01Cables and ports+
Insert and remove a cable using the connector, not by repeatedly pulling the cable. Never force a connector, and avoid sharp bends or strain near the port.
02Wireless charging+
Use charging equipment that meets the model’s stated requirements. Do not use damaged charging cables or connectors, and follow the applicable charging instructions.
03Battery warning signs+
If a battery appears swollen, physically damaged, unusually hot or shows another concerning condition, stop using the product and contact BROVOXEL for guidance.
04Keyboard storage+
Store in a clean, dry environment away from excessive moisture, heat and direct sunlight. Avoid placing heavy objects on the keyboard, and follow model-specific long-term battery guidance.
